Uke approaches with the intent to seize tori and throw him with ogoshi. Approaching close by, uke seizes tori's belt at the back with an underhand grip / right hand, and the front of tori's belt with his left hand underhand grip while leaning into tori and circling his left foot in front of tori to get a large pull to drag tori offbalance.
Uke is totally committed, tori is completely neutral.
When uke steps back to his left, pulling with both hands, tori, in the spirit of continuing to have no desire, no preconceived notions, simply moves into the rear of uke, who is off balanced by this move.
Uke is partially off-balanced, but because he is still totally committed, is blinded by his intent to throw tori, and does not recognize that he is partially offbalanced. Rather than correct the weakness in himself he fails to recognize, and take tori's balance, the superior position which he fails to recognize, again steps to his left while attempting to haul tori onto his right hip to throw tori.
As uke again hauls to his left, tori, still without active intent to counter uke but rather to maintain his own neutrality and freedom of motion, simply again slides into uke's right rear. Since uke is offbalance his step is weak and not long; since tori is in balance, his step is balanced and firm, and sufficiently long that uke ends up even more off balance.
Tori takes a very long step back with his right foot and kneels; short step back are the cause of many people's balance problems. Having done it a number of ways, I will voucher that what seems to be a very abnormally long back step is about right.
Uke, trapped by his own right hand which still grasps the rear of tori's belt and greatly offbalance is pulled offbalance to his right and is forced to unwind from around tori.
